Dearly Loved
30 Day Journey: Day 3

No matter what anyone says…God says “YOU are my dearly loved child, the apple of my eye, the one I’ve always wanted.”

Look at this glimpse of the Father’s heart for His kids in the words He spoke to Jesus at His baptism (before Jesus had ever done one thing to “earn” His Father’s love)…

Matthew 3:13-17 – Then Jesus went from Galilee to the Jordan River to be baptized by John. But John didn’t want to baptize Him. “I am the one who needs to be baptized by You,” he said, “so why are You coming to me?” But Jesus said, “It must be done, because we must do everything that is right.” So then John baptized Him. After His baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on Him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, and I am fully pleased with Him.”

The Message paraphrase says it this way: “This is my Son, chosen and marked by my love, delight of my life.” What if you really believed, to your core, that YOU are the delight of your Father’s life? You are.
